Banca d'Alba obtains attestations and certification of its social and ethical commitment

The delivery ceremony of the certificates and certification achieved by the Bank in its sustainable development path took place on Wednesday 24 April 2024, at Palazzo Banca d'Alba .

“ Banca d'Alba is the first Italian banking company to achieve certification and certification together with CSQA, bringing these very sensitive and important issues within the entire organisation”: these are the words of the auditors who carried out the inspections .



The delivery took place by Doctor Marco Omodei Salé, Innovation Manager of CSQA, the certification body with which Banca d'Alba undertook the voluntary attestation and certification process which ended with the simultaneous release of the Responsibility certificates Social – UNI EN ISO 26000:2020 , Diversity and Inclusion – UNI ISO 30415:2021 and certification for Gender Equality – Uni PdR 125:2022 .

“Social Responsibility, Diversity and Inclusion and Gender Equality” – declares Marco Omodei Salè, – “ are fundamental tools for a company that is committed to employees, stakeholders and institutions.
Banca d'Alba's choice to have them certified by a third-party body demonstrates the foresight and attention to extremely current and complex issues, capable of instilling a new corporate culture , based on equal opportunities and inclusion. ”

Banca d'Alba wanted to start from within, carefully analyzing its organization to understand whether it conformed to the standards required at a national, European and global level.

President Tino Cornaglia states that "the reason that pushed us to this choice was to be, and continue to be, a strong point of reference in terms of ethics and sustainability for the territory and for all its stakeholders ; in particular for all employees, for citizens, for local companies, for its members and customers without forgetting what the future customers will be, i.e. children and young people".



The sustainable development path for Banca d'Alba began, for the environmental part, in 2023 with the verification of the Carbon Footprint relating to the "2023 Shareholders' Meeting" event and continued, during the same year, on the social front with the organization of the work to obtain the UNI EN ISO 26000:2020 and UNI ISO 30415:2021 certifications and the Uni PdR 125:2022 certification.

In recent months, ESG or, rather, as stated by President Tino Cornaglia , CSR, Corporate Social Responsibility, has become an integral part of the bank where all collaborators are involved in the development of procedures that they add to those already existing with the common aim of creating an integrated management system where everything is part of the whole and everyone is part of this single whole.

The CSR Steering Committee was created in Banca d'Alba, across the entire bank, and the ERG Group, a group of volunteer employees with the task of listening to requests from the staff of the various branches and offices and showing them to the Committee. Guide CSR and enable their implementation as well as fostering a fair and inclusive working environment , where every individual, regardless of gender or origin, can contribute to the success and growth of the bank.

General Director Enzo Cazzullo : “This certification process has become a constant opportunity for discussion with the Auditors which has allowed us to look at our internal organization with a different eye; but above all it was a precious opportunity to become aware of our internal situation in terms of inclusion, gender equality, equity, social commitment and protection of the environmental sphere.
It will be our responsibility to consolidate and strengthen these values that already belong to the people who work in Banca d'Alba, with the challenging objective of increasing them and sharing them with the entire territory in which we operate".

There are many projects announced by President Tino Cornaglia that Banca d'Alba has in store for 2024 and will be aimed at all citizens, from members to customers to children with new formats to be developed, especially within schools of all levels and degree.

The Shareholders' Meeting on 12 May will also focus on inclusion and in general on issues relating to the social sphere representative of the path undertaken by the bank: " We want to make all levels of society reflect on the importance of these issues" concludes President Tino Cornaglia.

“To improve ourselves, we started from our principles. And we have certified them" this is the slogan of Banca d'Alba's new ESG advertising campaign, which will start on the same day and with which the bank wants to announce its commitment to these very current issues.
