The one launched by Banca d'Alba during the Shareholders' Meeting is a footprint attentive to green issues that refers to 120 years of history during which the Alba bank has strengthened its commitment to being a sustainable bank by adhering to the model proposed by the cooperative credit charter of values and by committing itself to achieving the development objectives set out in the 2030 Agenda.
«In particular», explain Elena Ferrero and Elena Mascarello , who followed the phases of the Carbon Neutral Assembly, «we took advantage of the well-attended meeting with our Members to focus on issues that are crucial today for our planet, but also for the related socio-economic activities.
To save the planet and fight climate change, we know that it has become crucial to achieve climate neutrality by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. And so, with the help of the CSQA certifying body , we started the process towards zero emissions with three steps: measurement, reduction and compensation .
And therefore, on the occasion of our Assembly we calculated the CO2 emission generated by the activities inherent in the organization of the event .
Starting from the mobility (69%) which concerned the people who moved to reach Piazza Medford; to then investigate the meals and the production of food (28%) offered to the participants and finally calculating the incidence of the structure and ancillary services available to the people who attended.
The overall calculation of CO2 emissions by an accredited body has estimated an impact of around 180 tons of CO2 which is just under 10 kg of CO2 per person. Emissions compensated thanks to the purchase of international certified carbon credits which have made it possible to support the development of projects in South America capable of reabsorbing the CO2 generated during this event ».
