Organic: 24 million to the supply chain

24 million euros are coming for the organic sector: after the agreement reached in the State-Regions Conference, the ministerial decree reserved for the organic sector was approved.

The provision governs the criteria and methods for the implementation of interventions aimed at favoring forms of agricultural production with a reduced environmental impact and for the promotion of organic farming chains and districts.

The resources allocated to the Organic Agriculture Fund amount to 24 million euros for 2020 and 2021.

The aim of the provision is:

  • promote forms of aggregation and participation in the relationships between the different subjects of the organic supply chains
  • implement the ecological transition of the sector
  • allow the development, collaboration and integration between the subjects of the supply chain
  • stimulate market relations
  • ensure positive effects on local agricultural production and on the local economy.
"To be financed - explains the Undersecretary of the MiPAAF, Francesco Battistoni - are both national projects, promoted by the supply chains and organic associations, and projects favored by organic districts at a local level".

"The purpose of the Decree - he concludes - is precisely to increase knowledge, information, consultancy services and the promotion of the Italian organic sector which, I recall, is one of the strategic sectors of our agri-food".
