Borgo Turrito , a Foggia winery in Borgo Incoronata, has obtained the Equalitas certification as a sustainable winery . This recognition is issued following rigorous and in-depth evaluations of three fundamental sustainability parameters: environmental, economic and social, good communication practices.
Equalitas is the company that owns the Standard originated from a project for the certification of sustainability in the wine sector. The company's partners are Federdoc (the Confederation of Consortia for the protection of DOC Italian wine), Csqa Certificazioni and Valoritalia (two of the leading bodies for certification in the wine sector) and Fondazione Gambero Rosso.
To obtain certification, a long series of requirements are evaluated: among these, the biodiversity of the soil, water and air, the correct use and monitoring of water resources , good agricultural practices which include the exclusion of dangerous pesticides , a high hygienic standard of premises and equipment.
