The Protection Consortium confirms CSQA for checks on the 92,000 tonnes of the certified supply chain, in the name of quality
The Central Inspectorate for the Protection of Quality and Fraud Repression (ICQRF) of agro-food products of the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies has renewed the authorization for CSQA Certificazioni to carry out controls for the Protected Geographical Indication Pasta di Gragnano .
An excellence symbol of the rich basket of DOP IGP products of Campania , a region that boasts 55 protected products , of which 26 agri-food and 29 wine, and generates an economic value of 782 million euros : it is the eighth region in Italy for economic impact (Ismea-Qualivita Report Data 2021).
Pasta di Gragnano PGI , the hub of the regional PDO PGI basket with over 300 million in value for consumption , continues its growth, exceeding 92,000 tons of certified production, marking + 84% in three years (2018-2020). Ninth Italian DOP IGP product by value and second in the South, it also experiences significant growth in exports to which approximately 60% of the total certified production is destined (Data from the Consortium for the Protection of Gragnano Pasta IGP).
The Consortium confirms the assignment to CSQA for checks on the certified supply chain and continues in the promotion and protection of one of the most representative denominations of Made in Italy as stated by Massimo Menna , President of the Consortium: "From Gragnano we bring the first and only dried pasta protected by the PGI brand to the tables of the world. The renewed collaboration with the CSQA certification body is aimed at guaranteeing the consumer a controlled product from production to labelling, in compliance with the principles of production excellence sanctioned in the production regulations”.
