As emerged during the speech “eIDAS_2 and the new digital preservation: the evolution of trust services within the EU” held by Anna Conte (Head of Digital Services Development & Cybersecurity – CSQA) and Andrea Castello (Head of Digital Services Scheme – CSQA) on the occasion of the ICT Security 2024 Forum , this process aims to define a legal framework that facilitates the creation of a unique and secure digital identity system for every EU citizen.
This regulatory evolution – initially started in Italy and progressively extended to the entire Union – is embodied in over twenty regulations , part of an ambitious programme of digitalisation of the European ecosystem : the aim is to provide a strategic response to the challenges posed by an increasingly interconnected technological context vulnerable to systemic risks.
