The drafting of the fifth version of the Standard follows an extensive consultation , conducted with the aim of understanding the needs of interested parties and the evolution of the concept of sustainability on the international scene.
The review work was guided by the Technical-Scientific-Ethical Committee (hereinafter CTSE), which involves representatives of the academy, the productive world, consumers, trade associations and regulatory bodies.
In this edition, the focus was mainly on the following aspects:
Simplify the certification process for agricultural companies participating in territorial projects (DpS);
Ensure greater alignment between Chapters 6 (PS) and 7 (DpS );
Offer greater characterization of indicators with respect to the wine sector;
Keep the Standard aligned with the main international voluntary regulatory references , including auditing protocols.
Include absolutely cutting-edge topics , not yet implemented by most international voluntary regulatory references.
Equalitas came into force on 01/08/2024 .
Until 07/31/2025, organizations will be able to choose whether to undertake the audit against revision 4 or revision 5 of the SOPD Equalitas Standard.
From 1/08/2025 it will become mandatory and all audits must be carried out in accordance with the SOPD Equalitas revision 5 Standard.
