
The issue of price continues to be central to the market scenarios of evo oil . Due to strong increases in the cost of raw materials, consumption of olive oils has undergone a significant contraction over the last two years. The decrease is mainly linked to the Classic segment, which has recorded a price increase of over 40%.
On the other hand, 100% Italian is growing, benefiting from a lower price increase compared to extra virgin olive oils of EU and non-EU origin, followed by Organic and Unfiltered . The number of purchasing families has slightly decreased. The average purchase per act is decreasing above all: the category is still being purchased, but fewer units are being purchased than in the past and in formats smaller than a litre.
In 2024, globally, EVO consumption saw a 2.8% contraction in volumes compared to a strong growth in value (+32.8%) due to the increase of €2.26/L in the average price compared to the same period.

What we hypothesize is that the very low offers of the pre-crisis period of the raw material will not be reached, but that more lukewarm promotional pressure values will be maintained.
