Modica PGI Chocolate closes 2024 with a positive balance, recording an increase in production and growing success on both the national and international markets. The constant presence of the product on Rai and Mediaset television channels has helped strengthen its notoriety and consolidate its prestige.

Over the course of the year, the Consortium oversaw the production of over 347 thousand kilos of Modica PGI chocolate , marking an increase of 3.8% compared to 2023. A significant figure, especially considering the surge in the cost of cocoa, which for the second consecutive year exceeded 120%. At the same time, the number of bars placed on the market reached 3,870,645, with a growth of 12% compared to the previous year.

One of the most important innovations for next year will be the introduction of the Digital Passport , a mark based on QR Code technology, which will be implemented by April 2025. Its official presentation to companies is scheduled for the second ten days of February, with the participation of the managers of the State Printing Office and the CSQA control body . This innovation will represent a crucial step in guaranteeing the traceability and authenticity of Modica PGI chocolate, further consolidating its value on the market.
