WHAT THE DECREE PROVIDES
The Interministerial Decree establishes the provisions for the recognition of a non-repayable financial contribution and a tax credit aimed at promoting the returnable system for packaging containing liquids for food purposes, primary and reusable, in the Environmental Economic Zones.
10 MILLION EUROS AVAILABLE
The available financial endowment is equal to a total of 10 million euros, of which 5 million euros for the disbursement of the non-repayable economic contribution, and 5 million euros for the recognition of a tax credit.
WHO CAN BE ADMITTED TO THE CONTRIBUTION
To be eligible for the contribution , traders, distributors, fillers, users of packaging and importers of filled packaging must:
have an operational headquarters within a ZEA (areas that coincide with the territories of national parks, established by the climate law at the end of 2019);
introduce the returnable system for the sale of packaging containing liquids for food, primary and reusable purposes.
The rules specify, however, that " sales packaging or primary packaging means packaging designed in such a way as to constitute, at the point of sale, a sales unit for the end user or consumer.
Reusable packaging means packaging or packaging component that has been conceived, designed and placed on the market to withstand multiple movements or rotations within a reuse circuit during its life cycle , with the same purposes for which it was conceived”. (Source: https://www.efanews.eu/ )
