The publication of the new edition of ISO 9001, scheduled for 2026 , represents a unique opportunity for companies because it aims to make QMS even more functional governance tools, in step with a constantly evolving world.Within it, we expect the need to give greater space to opportunity-based thinking and useful indications for its implementation to emerge forcefully.

The authors have revisited the current 2015 version with a view to preparing us to proactively anticipate change, reflect on emerging challenges, and plan timely solutions that strengthen our ability to innovate and compete.
THE STAGES OF THE REVISION
Working Group 29 recently completed the second draft, marking the beginning of a critical phase on the journey towards the publication of ISO 9001:2026.The review process is divided into several key phases:
Completing the Draft:
17 January 2025 : Second committee draft (Cd) concluded and draft ISO/Cd 9001.2 distributed to subcommittee 2 (Sc 2) members for comments.
Comment Period:
From January 17, 2025 to March 14, 2025 , comments will be collected to help refine the document.
Meeting in Paris:
From 31 March 2025 to 4 April 2025 , Working Group 29 will meet to review the feedback received and begin preparation of the draft international standard, called ISO/Dis 9001.
Official Publication:
ISO 9001:2026 is scheduled for official publication in September 2026.
