With 12 employees, including eight women, six first-level members and approximately 200 associated producers, Joinfruit is the first fruit and vegetable producer organization to be certified by CSQA for gender equality, and among the first Italian agricultural companies to achieve this goal.
The delivery was made by the CSQA general manager Maria Chiara Ferrarese , the certification body with which Joinfruit has undertaken the voluntary certification and attestation process which ended positively with the release of the certification for gender equality – Uni PdR 125.
As highlighted in the FAO report The status of women in agrifood systems of 2023, tackling gender inequalities in agri-food systems is essential to reduce hunger, stimulate economic growth and strengthen resilience to shocks.
In its path to sustainable development , Op Joinfruit, in line with this vision, has implemented a gender equality management system focused mainly on the professional figures who carry out administrative and support activities within the company.
