All set for the 50th edition of the Cimadolmo PGI White Asparagus Exhibition , scheduled from April 24 to May 4. An important milestone for a product that has been a flagship of Treviso agriculture for centuries. "It is not just a vegetable, but a treasure of the territory," declared regional councilor Roberto Bet during today's presentation in Venice, recalling that white asparagus has been grown since 1600 along the banks of the Piave , where the climate, water and sandy soil create ideal conditions. Today it is protected by a rigorous specification and has been PGI certified since 2002 , the first of its kind in Europe.
