UNI 11601, THE STANDARD FOR COACHING SERVICES
CSQA issues the first certificate to Giovanni Spissu
CSQA Certificazioni has issued to Giovanni Spissu, owner and promoter of Coach Academy, the first certificate in compliance with the UNI 11601:2015 standard on the provision of coaching services.
CSQA - a certification body that operates in the services sector - has certified Giovanni Spissu in compliance with the UNI 11601 standard.
This standard was published at the end of 2015, and aims to clearly define which processes are to be supervised in the delivery of the coaching service and to offer a tool for assessing whether the actions taken are efficient and effective.
SOME POINTS OF UNI 11601
The focus of the standard concerns the design of a "tailor-made" service, capable of responding to the customer's requests, considering the real possibility of meeting expectations.
The regulation also dwells on the provision of the service, which must correspond to certain phases: the constitution of the coaching agreement; the exploration of the skills, resources and potential of the coachee; the definition of the objectives and the action pact; the construction of the action plan and its monitoring; the activities related to the conclusion of the coaching agreement.
Then the definition of the responsibilities of each person involved in the process (supplier, client, coach and coachee).
Finally, the standard focuses on the measurement and evaluation of the service, introducing, also in this context, the fundamental theme of evaluating the effectiveness of the actions undertaken.
THE CERTIFICATION TO GIOVANNI SPISSU
The reason why a professional who has been working in the field of personal growth and corporate training for over twenty years gets involved by certifying his own business in a pioneering way is to be found in the constant attention towards the customer.
“Certification” says Giovanni Spissu, ACoI professional coach and owner of the Coach Academy , “can allow even more quality to be transferred to the client. In fact, operating in line with UNI 11601 means using tools and skills even more efficiently, to ensure that people and companies who turn to us can face the path of change and improvement more quickly, with the least expenditure of resources, and at the same time perceive greater self-satisfaction."
Adapting to a standard of an established activity, with customized procedures and practices, can initially be a challenge, but the advantage is in terms of more order in the collection of the coachee's information, replicability of processes within the organization, as well as a competitive advantage. “ Today the main change for us ” continues Spissu “consists in the better management of the coaching relationship through an orderly custody of the information provided to me by the coachee or by the company during the sessions and activities.”
The UNI 11601 standard, in addition to improving the internal efficiency and effectiveness of organizations, represents a great opportunity for the coaching market.
Coaching is considered one of the professions of the future: individuals and companies are increasingly turning to a coach. The data also confirm the productivity results that coaching is able to achieve better than other disciplines or methodologies. The important thing is to guarantee the client the professionalism of the coaching company: "The potential client" concludes Giovanni Spissu "is not always able to distinguish between the vast offer that he finds on the web, and runs the risk of relying on the least suitable professional. The expectation is therefore that UNI 11601 will help act as a watershed between coaching professionals and all the rest, so that the end user can choose more clearly and with less risk when he wants to decide to rely on a professional coach."
CSQA is the leading Italian company in the certification sector. For over 25 years it has offered an international and accredited certification service, which ranges from regulated and voluntary product certifications to management systems such as quality, environment, energy, occupational safety, information security and social responsibility.
