WHAT IS THAT
LEAF is the acronym of Linking Environment And Farming which can be translated into Italian as "connection between environment and agriculture" .
This production standard was created in 1991 and is aimed at the primary sector , outlines, i.e. a method for doing agriculture with respect for the environment.It was created to develop and promote integrated production or Integrated Farm Management (IFM) on farms, combining the best of traditional methods with modern technology, and farmers awareness.
Leaf Marque is in summary:
- is a quality assurance system based on the principles of integrated production
- builds on existing schemas to avoid duplication
- is subject to inspection and certification by an authorized certification body , such as CSQA
- it is applicable to all primary production sectors
- gives the possibility to use the LEAF Marque logo
KEY POINTS
LEAF Marque is applied to the entire company surface
- The LEAF Marque certificate covers all company products
- It is a product certification that can be communicated on the finished product label . The logo can also be placed on packaged and/or processed products
- In order to use the LEAF Marque logo the company must be fully compliant with all Critical Failure Points (CFP)
- The use of the logo is permitted only after obtaining the certificate
- The standard calls for annual inspections

The following questionnaire must be completed and sent by fax to CSQA (0445 313070) for:
- the request for annual renewal of the certificate
- the request for initial certification
