Sunday 10 September 2017 in Bologna the conference organized by AVI and CSQA
At SANA the analysis of the Italian market of veg products
Associazione Vegetariana Italiana and CSQA outline the guidelines for the certification of veg products to protect the consumer
The conference " Veg Certification: the value of certified veg products ", the initiative promoted by the Italian Vegetarian Association (AVI), in collaboration with CSQA Certificazioni , will be held on Sunday 10 September at 2.30 pm at the SANA in Bologna, to take stock of the market for vegan and vegetarian products. At the center of the meeting was the proliferation of veg -branded products on the market, often conveyed effectively from a marketing point of view, but released without having undergone controls by an independent third party as a guarantee for the consumer. AVI, the most representative Veg association at national level, will exhibit the guidelines it has adopted to respond to consumer needs by defining a production specification and, filling the lack of a legislative obligation, with a product certification entrusted to the checks of a professional body such as CSQA, which has always been committed to innovation in the field of food sector standards. "Certification is a fundamental step - says Carmen Nicchi Somaschi , President of AVI - because it ensures the possibility of systematizing the independent controls of CSQA with AVI's thirty years of experience in supporting companies in the creation of products that fully respect the food choice of the veg consumer: from the absence of ingredients of animal origin - even those little known - to the choice of healthy, quality raw materials within everyone's reach". "The market for veg products is growing rapidly - declares Maria Chiara Ferrarese , R&D Executive Manager of CSQA - and the consumer is increasingly attentive and demanding. The demand for clear, homogeneous and shared rules to define products is increasingly pressing and the need for reassurances with respect to the veracity of the numerous and varied veg claims is increasing. These needs find a concrete response in the AVI standards - Vegan Vegan® Quality and V Label - and in AVI's choice to subject products to CSQA control and companies to be able to grant the use of the Qualità Vegetariana Vegan® brand.
