
“It is necessary to resume a virtuous relationship of communication with consumers, especially for fruit and vegetables. The Gocciaverde certification is an element of competitiveness, which allows the farmer to be the protagonist in marketing processes, which would otherwise be suffered”: this was declared by Francesco Vincenzi, President of the National Association of Consortia for the Management and Protection of the Territory and Irrigated Waters (ANBI), who spoke at the official launch of the first voluntary water sustainability label, which reached the operational stage after about a year of work, which led to the "pilot" certification of 4 companies, 2 producer organizations and as many Consortiums for reclamation and irrigation; three certification bodies involved: Checkfruit, CSQA, CCPB.
In the presence of the Undersecretary for Agricultural Policies and Food Sovereignty, Luigi D'Eramo and the honorable, Stefano Vaccari, of the Agriculture Commission, the presentation event was held inside the Macfrut trade fair in Rimini , in front of a large audience and a qualified parterre of representatives from the political and economic world.
In the morning, "GocciaVerde" was also presented to the President of the Senate Agriculture Commission, Luca De Carlo .
"Gocciaverde" is a voluntary private certification on the use of water and the qualitative and quantitative protection of the water resource to improve its sustainability and increase the competitiveness of Italian products on markets around the world.
The certification process requires compliance with specific requirements and the implementation of virtuous actions, which give rise to verifiable and measurable indicators, certified by an independent third party.
