The Unione Montana Valle Varaita has obtained the sustainable forest management system certificate for the public wooded areas of the municipalities of Bellino, Pontechianale and Casteldelfino, for a total of approximately 3,500 hectares.
The certificate was issued by the Csqa control body of Thiene (Vicenza) and guarantees the compliance of local management with the standards set by the regulations. It will be valid for five years, with a mandatory annual periodic check to analyze whether the requirements are maintained, and can then be renewed.
With this certificate it is declared, among other things, that the level of forest use is sustainable for at least the next ten years , that forest management operations also take into consideration the aesthetic values of the forests and that no genetically modified organisms are found in the area. modified.
