Montenegro Group obtains CSQA certification for Gender Equality

Montenegro Group obtains CSQA certification for Gender Equality The growth of Gruppo Montenegro , a 100% Italian entrepreneurial reality, market leader in the food and alcoholic beverages sectors, continues in the name of Gender Equality .

Founded in Bologna in 1885 and today the 2nd player in Italy in the Spirits industry, Gruppo Montenegro has in fact obtained the UNI/PdR 125:2022 certification for gender equality from CSQA , becoming the first company in Italy in the Spirits sector and among the first in the food and beverage industry sector to win this important recognition, which attests to the companies' commitment to supporting female empowerment and against stereotypes and discrimination in the workplace.

An achievement which also allows Gruppo Montenegro to join the list of approximately 100 certified companies in Emilia-Romagna.

“Enhancement of diversity and respect for all people, remuneration equity, equal access to career opportunities for all genders and protection of parenthood – declared Cristina Danelatos, HR Director of Gruppo Montenegroare just some of the aspects on which the company has focused in recent years, starting a virtuous path to create a fair, inclusive and equal working environment. This important certification represents the culmination of a larger Gender Equality project within the company which has already allowed us to achieve an equal level of employment among the approximately 400 employees (50% women, 50% men) and to guarantee substantial equity pay and promotions between genders. In the future we will continue to invest to build an increasingly inclusive culture, so that there are no inaccessible careers for women."

Gender Equality initiatives within Gruppo Montenegro: from “Tutti per uno #MEZZIPERTUTTE” to MUMS@WORK, to MENTORSHE. In this sense, various measures for reconciling private life and work have already been introduced in the company, as well as measures that favor the redistribution of assistance and care work between women and men.

For example, all employees are provided with reduced hours for placing their children in nursery school and in the first year of nursery school; 20 paid hours per year to accompany parents over 80 and minor children to specialist medical visits; and for new fathers, 8 additional hours of paid leave in the event of birth, foster care or adoption.

Gruppo Montenegro has also introduced solutions to promote behavior based on respect, starting with the initiative against harassment and violence , "All for one #MEZZIPERTUTTE", developed in collaboration with the non-profit association RoadTo50.

The company also takes concrete actions to guarantee equal access to career opportunities starting, for example, from the objective of having at least one female candidate present in at least 98% of the selections, and passing through the program MENTORSHE, in its second year, developed in collaboration with the Libellula Foundation, to support the development of female leadership.

Instead, MUMS@WORK, the initiative created to support pregnant colleagues and new mothers, looks to the protection of parenthood through meetings (during working hours and led by a professional coach) which in the last 5 years have seen the participation of 19 employee mothers of Gruppo Montenegro. Finally, since 2021, the Bolognese company has supported 4w4i, a large inter-company marathon dedicated to the inclusion and valorization of differences.
