
In an era in which the massive use of water for the most disparate purposes and climate change alter the balance of the water cycle as we have always known it, water scarcity has become a daily global concern for millions of people. In this scenario , the water footprint is a fundamental concept for understanding the consumption and management of water resources . It can be defined as the amount of fresh water used to produce goods and services and must take into account both the volume of water consumed and the impact on various ecosystems and communities.

CSQA is committed daily to sustainability issues (environmental, social and economic), making available to customers and stakeholders a series of certification and verification services, also functional to support strategies for reducing the environmental impacts of products, organizations and supply chains.
In this sense, the water footprint verification conducted by CSQA through the ISO 14046 and ISO 14017 standards can be useful for organizations that want to measure themselves, improve and communicate their commitment in this direction to their customers and stakeholders.
CSQA is also a partner in the LIFE Svolta Blu project which sees the collaboration, on the theme of water, between Viacqua , which plays the role of leader, ANBI Veneto , Consorzio di Bonifica Alta Pianura Veneta , Fondazione Palazzo Festari IPA Vicentino, University of Padua with the ICEA (Civil, Building and Environmental Engineering) and TESAF (Territory and Agro-Forestry Systems) Departments.
The main objective is the creation of a governance system for the exchange of “blue credits” , the starting point of which, for all participants, is the measurement and verification of the water footprint , which makes it possible to measure the effectiveness of good practices on the one hand and the possibility of offsetting one's environmental impact on the other.
