Made Green in Italy, MASE call for communication of the environmental footprint of products The Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security ( MASE ) has launched a call for proposals to encourage participation in the voluntary “ Made Green in Italy ” scheme for the evaluation and communication of the environmental footprint of products.

The environmental footprint assessment provided for by the Made Green in Italy scheme is carried out according to the PEF (Product Environmental Footprint) methodology .

Membership in the scheme is limited to the following products:
  • Made in Italy that present environmental performances equal to or higher than the reference benchmarks
  • for which there is a valid RCP (Product Category Rule) . RCPs are issued by the Ministry of the Environment and contain the requirements necessary for conducting PEF studies for a specific product category.
For Made Green in Italy products , a logo and a product environmental footprint declaration are provided , which provide both quantitative and qualitative information on the environmental performance of the product.

The call for proposals provides for a total financial endowment of 114 thousand euros, with non-repayable contributions of up to 10 thousand euros per project , intended for the evaluation of the environmental footprint of products.

Applications can be submitted from 8:00 am on 13 January 2025 to 8:00 pm on 3 February 2025 , exclusively via PEC to the address programmacertificazione@pec.mase.gov.it.

The beneficiaries of the call are producers of products classifiable as “Made in Italy”, that is, originating in Italy as established by Article 60 of Regulation (EU) No. 952/2013.

Projects must concern products for which the corresponding Product Category Rules (RCP) are published and valid, and can be viewed on the MASE website.

Proposals will be funded until available resources are exhausted, based on the chronological order of submission of applications.
