As part of the CAST Project (Contatto Alimentare Sicurezza e Tecnologia), the Istituto Superiore di Sanità has developed guidelines for the application of Regulation (EC) 2023/2006 on good manufacturing practices in the production chain of materials and objects intended to come into contact with food.
The guidelines are structured in a general application part and in a specific application part, distinct for the supply chains of materials and objects in aluminium, paper and cardboard, flexible packaging, wood, plastic materials, coated and uncoated metals and metal alloys, cork, glass, products painted on metals (coating), sealing adhesives, printing inks.
Furthermore, four new supply chains have been included in this edition: coated metal items intended for cooking, rubber, food packaging machines, gas distribution systems for food additives. (Source: https://www.iss.it )
