The topic of food safety offers an interesting starting point for starting a project involving Management Bodies belonging to the Italmercati Network and Market operators. The Veronamercato Company , Management Body of the Verona Agri-food Centre and a member of the Network since 2016, has a certified quality, safety, environment, corruption prevention system for its business activities (logistics and distribution market services, cleaning and separate waste collection, price information) and social commitment (food education, fight against waste, support for sport, training).

In the logistics sector , with the next interventions financed mostly with PNRR funds , the cold chain will be operational in the northern and southern ends of the Market, with traced product flows ( digital transition ) and a new photovoltaic system ( energy transition ) which, with an annual production of 2.2 MW, will guarantee energy self-sufficiency for the common areas of the Centre.

In the training sector, the start of an ITS course at the Management Building is imminent, and subsequently, the setting up of a biochemistry laboratory in the premises of the Entrance Centre .

The Observatory – explains the President of Veronamercato Marco Dallamano , wants to highlight the opportunity to best valorise the activities of Veronamercato together with those of virtuous and sensitive operators, with respect to fundamental issues such as food safety, traceability, ethics, defining a common project, with the support of CSQA , which takes into account the expectations of the buyers of the Market and the final consumer.
