Gender Equality for COSMO Social Cooperative of Vicenza

The COSMO social cooperative of Vicenza has obtained the Gender Equality Certification from CSQA in compliance with the UNI PdR 125 Practice.

“During the audits we were able to see – states Massimiliano Oro, Head of the “Personal Services” Business Unit of CSQA on the occasion of the delivery of the certificate – a strategic plan for Gender Equality that is documented, robust and appropriate to the context, and procedures that today enhance the vision of a social cooperative that has long been harmonizing with inclusion and gender equality, in all the areas in which it operates.
The Management has proven to be very determined.”

Since 2007, the Cosmo social cooperative has been gathering the experiences gained over the last 40 years by a constellation of groups, associations and cooperatives in the Vicenza area that are attentive to social phenomena.

The Cosmo Cooperative aims to prevent and treat people's discomfort in the various stages of life and to promote well-being in agreement with local public services.

The cooperative's mission is to propose prevention and inclusion projects and develops it mainly in the activities of the three key sectors:

  • the Marginality Sector,

  • the Epochè Social-Health Sector,

  • the LaLudo Developmental Age Sector.

Within the Cooperative, a multidisciplinary approach is adopted that encourages collaboration and the valorization of the different professional skills involved, privileging the tool of the relationship .

From all this, it emerges that the protection of the person is a primary objective , both in the scope of the services offered and in the working approach: in the latter, above all, the Cooperative promotes a welcoming, non-discriminatory, inclusive environment that knows how to adapt to the personal and family needs of the collaborators.

Cosmo's values are collected in the "Charter of Values" , which collects and examines in depth all the fundamental principles that the Cooperative has chosen as essential to guarantee healthy internal functioning and a corresponding external approach, in each of the functions performed:

  • Dignity of the person

  • Inclusion and non-discrimination

  • Rejection of violence in all its forms

  • Work-life balance

  • Freedom

  • Sharing

  • (Contrast to) normalization

  • Pluralism

  • Inclusive language

  • Equal treatment

  • Training

  • Prevention activities.

President Gianni Bettini , supported by the Board of Directors and the Steering Committee for the application of the company's gender equality policy, promoted the certification process as it reflects the strategies and attention that the cooperative has always implemented towards its staff , considered the first invaluable resource for promoting social change for the territory and the community.
