Yesterday, October 14, GLOBALG.AP clarified the Parallel Ownership application rule for the SPRING v2 add-on , following the absolute ban from January 1, 2025 introduced with Technical News 02/2024.
The new rules are:
OPTIONS 1 - After January 1, 2025, parallel ownership (PO) for individual products will no longer be allowed in the SPRING add-on ; individual manufacturers will not be able to apply PO for SPRING, whether they have their own manufacturing processes for the same individual product and/or purchase the same product from a supplier who does not have a SPRING Letter of Conformity (LoC).
OPTIONS 2 - Starting January 1, 2025, parallel ownership (PO) for individual products will be allowed in the SPRING add-on module.
A producer group will be able to register for the SPRING add-on (e.g. for apples) and apply the PO to the apples in this group.
This means that not all members of the producer group producing apples included in the IFA v6 (Smart/GFS) certificate will be included in the Letter of Conformity of the SPRING module.
This group of producers will also be able to purchase apples from other suppliers with IFA certified production processes who do not have the SPRING add-on for apples.
When Parallel Ownership is applied for the SPRING add-on, traceability and segregation requirements will apply , as described in the SPRING P&C v2.
