Oleificio Zucchi, the first "Made Green Italy" oil is born Oleificio Zucchi is the first agri-food product certified Made Green in Italy by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, and it is the 19th voluntary certification obtained by the Company.

With the aim of valorising Italian products with excellent environmental performance on the market, promoting sustainable models of production and consumption, encouraging informed and conscious choices by citizens, with the aim of encouraging the development of sustainable consumption, the Made Green standard was born in Italy of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security.

The voluntary national scheme for the evaluation and communication of the environmental footprint of products combines the measurement of the impacts on the environment of a product or service throughout its entire life cycle with the dimension of "made in Italy", linked to excellences of the national production system, through the European PEF (Product Environmental Footprint) methodology, which allows the environmental footprint to be calculated by measuring the impact of the product in every single phase of the life cycle.

The “Made Green in Italy” scheme provides for certification by an accredited certification body to guarantee the competence, seriousness and robustness of the evaluation. “The “Made Green in Italy” recognition for Oleificio Zucchi is a guarantee mark for its products but also a certification for consumers – declares the Minister of the Environment and Energy Safety, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin. Today we are aiming for increasingly sustainable production cycles, which combine respect for the environment and the valorization of national agri-food excellence.

To award this certification, the environmental performance of a product is evaluated, from the supply of raw materials to the end of life, and it is verified whether they are organized in order to reduce environmental impacts. In an increasingly fierce and globalized market - continues the Minister -, being able to count on a brand like "Made Green in Italy", which has European value, is proof that Oleificio Zucchi is looking ahead to build an increasingly sustainable corporate future to increase its competitiveness on all markets in the name of Italian quality".

For years Zucchi has been committed to guaranteeing the sustainability of the product, first through the voluntary certification issued by CSQA against the "Sustainable EVO Oil" standard and now, through the innovative "Made Green In Italy" certification.

An important result for the historic Cremonese oil mill, which for over 210 years has been synonymous with value and competence in the Italian olive sector.
