VOG Products: sustainability at the highest level with the GLOBALG.AP Farm Sustainability Assessment

A major sustainability project involving over ten thousand South Tyrolean farms

Fruit processing company achieves new sustainability standards by adopting GLOBALG.AP Farm Sustainability Assessment.

VOG Products has chosen sustainability for its apple suppliers by adopting the GLOBALG.AP Farm Sustainability Assessment .

In fact, the evaluation process by CSQA concerning the verification of sustainability in farms was successfully concluded.
A large-scale project with important repercussions on the territory and the local community, a further step towards improvement that embraces highly topical issues such as planning long-term economic stability , protection from the spread of invasive species and organisms ; the ban on the use of pesticides ; the protection of protected areas ; monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions and optimization of product collection periods .

Added to these are aspects of social sustainability , among which there are those linked to the prevention of discrimination against workers and their safety ; employment contracts in accordance with national laws; the prohibition of forced labour; a fair workload, wages paid regularly and in line with regulations, the prohibition of the use of child labor and the protection of workers from activities harmful to their health and that of other workers.

The SAI platform (Sustainable Agriculture Initiative) is a global initiative for the food and beverage value chain with the aim of supporting the development of sustainable agriculture worldwide. To achieve this GLOBALG.AP and the SAI platform have collaborated to offer an innovative approach that benefits from their expertise and long experience by developing the GLOBALG.AP Farm Sustainability Assessment (GGFSA).

This new solution is based on the GLOBALG.AP crop standards and combines all the sustainability requirements of the FSA into one compact and evaluable standard. In this way, GLOBALG.AP certified producers are able to demonstrate compliance with FSA requirements without duplication. This joint solution also enables transparent and more efficient procurement of safe and sustainable products for large industry , traders , retailers and manufacturers .
